A Biblical Mandate

The International Christian Embassy Jerusalem represents Christians around the world who stand with Israel and the Jewish people based on biblical principles and promises. Founded in 1980, the ICEJ recognizes the modern-day restoration of Israel as the faithfulness of God to keep His ancient covenant promises to the Jewish people.

A Prophetic Vision

The ICEJ aspires to develop pro-active expressions of Christian support for Israel in every nation on earth and to reach all segments of Israeli society with the message of sincere Christian love and concern for them.

Our Scriptural Calling

From the beginning, the founders of the International Christian Embassy Jerusalem received a clear mandate from Scripture to be a ‘ministry of comfort’ to Israel and the Jewish people, based on Isaiah 40:1-2: “Comfort, yes, comfort My people!” Says your God. “Speak comfort to Jerusalem, and cry out to her, That her warfare is ended, that her iniquity is pardoned; For she has received from the Lord’s hand double for all her sins.”

Our History

The International Christian Embassy Jerusalem was founded in September 1980 at a time when Israel’s parliament (the Knesset) declared the entire reunited city of Jerusalem to be the eternal, indivisible capital of the Jewish State. In response, the Arab oil powers threatened an embargo against any countries which still had their embassies in Jerusalem. One-by-one, the last 13 foreign embassies abandoned the city for Tel Aviv. Sensing the isolation of the Israeli people, a group of Evangelicals decided to establish a ‘Christian Embassy’ in Jerusalem as an act of solidarity with the Jewish people’s deep spiritual longing and attachment to this city.

Our Beliefs

The International Christian Embassy Jerusalem (ICEJ) is an evangelical Christian organization that subscribes to orthodox Evangelical beliefs, which we view as wholly consistent with biblical revelation.
