We'll be continuing our Isaiah 62 Prayer Initiative throughout 2012 setting one day aside each month in fasting and prayer for Israel, the Middle East and the work of the ICEJ. We value your partnership and your prayers.

I will go before you!

A warm shalom from Jerusalem as we approach our first global day of prayer and fasting in the New Year. Here in Jerusalem, our staff has started the year with another entire month of special prayer and seeking the Lord for our ministry, Israel and the region. Throughout January, we again are asking God to direct our vision and our hearts in the year ahead. Our staff has already had some very powerful and blessed prayer meetings, and one of the passages which have really spoken to us comes from Isaiah 45:1-4:

“Thus says the Lord to His anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have held – To subdue nations before him and loose the armor of kings, to open before him the double doors, so that the gates will not be shut. I will go before you and make the crooked places straight; I will break in pieces the gates of bronze and cut the bars of iron, and I will give you the treasures of darkness and the hidden riches of secret places, that you may know that I, the Lord, who called you by your name, am the God of Israel. For Jacob My servant’s sake, and Israel My elect, I have even called you by your name.

January 2012 Prayer Points

Prayers for Israel
Climate of Incitement – Israel has set aside this month to combat anti-Semitism, just as the United Nations and many countries worldwide are holding Holocaust Remembrance Days on January 27. This comes as racial and religious incitement against Israel and the Jewish people are once again rampant, especially in the Arab and Muslim world.

  • End of Incitement - Pray that such incitement would be fully exposed as malicious lies and that those responsible would be held accountable and their voices shut.
  • For Truth to be heard - Pray for Israel’s efforts to speak forth truth and to combat anti-Semitism around the world.

Prayers for the Middle East
Islamist tide – The so-called ‘Arab Spring’ has opened the door for radical Islamist factions like the Muslim Brotherhood to take power in numerous capitals around the Middle East. Yet even with these troubling developments, there are reports of revival in the Arab world.

  • True Freedom - Pray that the forces for true freedom and democracy would prevail in the Arab and Muslim world.
  • Revival - Pray that revival fires would sweep through every Arab and Muslim country.

Prayers for the work of the ICEJ
Ministry needs – The Christian Embassy has been offered an opportunity to partner in a weekly news program broadcast on Christian television which could greatly expand our reach. Israel Now News has asked that we be a part of their show every Sunday on Daystar TV, which can be seen in hundreds of millions of homes worldwide.

  • Pray that the resources would be available to take part in this TV venture, and that our message would be anointed, effective and impactful all around the globe
  • Pray for the general finances and provision of the Christian Embassy.
  • Pray for our planning of a successful Feast of Tabernacles Celebration this autumn, and that the Feast theme of “The Spirit of Grace and Supplication” would come alive in our midst.
  • Pray for an inspired and productive gathering at the ICEJ National Directors’ Conference to be held in Prague in May.

 God's Intervention on our Behalf

We all know that the calling of King Cyrus was to bring the Jewish people from the land of Babylon back to their homeland of Israel. As I thought about this passage, it was impressed upon me that if God would make such an incredible promise to a gentile king that may have still been into idol worship, how much more can we, as believing children of God, count on His support and even intervention on our behalf.

And as we gather again for another time of prayer and fasting for Israel, the region and our ministry, it is good to know that we seek the face of the one true God who is so powerful and also desires to do us good.

We want to invite you to join us on the 25th of January – the last Wednesday of this month – for a time of prayer and intercession. Many from our global following will be taking part. We need your prayers and support, and if you are able and led, please join us in fasting as well. We believe that as we sow unto the heavens, this will be a year of blessing and great harvest not only for us here in Jerusalem, but also for your life, your family and your community

May the Lord bless you out of Zion!

ICEJ Executive Director
