Word from Jerusalem Comforting Israel in wartime

By: Staff Writers

We are pleased to share a digital version of our March/April edition of the Word from Jerusalem magazine with you. We hope that you will find every article inspiring, as we continue to cover the present war in Israel and our Christian response to this crisis.

As antisemitism raises its ugly head around the globe, with even world leaders brazenly showing their true anti-Israel colours, ICEJ Vice President & Senior Spokesman David Parsons looks at the Spirit of Amalek and how this festering jealousy has been passed down through the generations between families and sibling rivalries. Be sure to read the Current Affairs article on ‘Cain & Abel and the battle against antisemitism’.

ICEJ President Dr. Jürgen Bühler follows up this commentary from Genesis with a companion teaching drawn from Revelation 12 on ‘Israel and the Battle for the Ages’. Here, he reminds us to be alert as we enter a deeper spiritual dimension behind the current conflict while presenting three basic truths that will help us not just survive but overcome in the days ahead.

The current war has stirred all kinds of fears and memories for the Holocaust survivors living at the ICEJ’s Haifa home for Holocaust survivors. See the war preparations which the ICEJ has made to assist survivors during this difficult time, and read about the newly renovated dining room that gives the residents a feeling of togetherness and security as they gather for meals and socials. Thankfully, they now know that only a few steps away they have a safe room in which to shelter should the need arise.

Meanwhile, the ICEJ continues to stand on the frontlines of Israel’s conflict by providing much-needed relief aid and medical equipment to the many needs of the nation. We highlight some of the ICEJ’s efforts on pages 12-14, and again express our gratitude for your generous support in helping us meet Israel’s needs. Together we can continue to make a positive impact and bring comfort to Israel.

Our daily Global Prayer Gathering continues to grow with over 10,000 intercessors from 173 different nations praying for Israel since the start of the war. We invite you to join us any day of the week at 4 PM Israel time to pray for Israel and receive the latest war update.

Thank you for standing with Israel and the ICEJ’s ministry. Enjoy this edition of the Word from Jerusalem.

Blessings from Jerusalem to you and your family!
