British Prince William Tours Jerusalem on Final Day in Israel
Britain’s Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge, wrapped up his successful trip to Israel on Thursday with a morning visit to several sites in Jerusalem’s Old City, including the Church of St. Mary Magdalene and the tomb of his great-grandmother Princess Alice of Battenberg, the Western Wall, the Temple Mount and the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. The mornings events followed Wednesday afternoon’s visit to Ramallah to meet Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas.

Following his meetings with Abbas, William made a brief visit to the Jelazoun refugee camp, meeting with Palestinian students at a school as well as representatives of UNRWA and local officials. As he left the camp, some teenagers reportedly threw stones at his vehicle to “express their opposition to the visit, saying the Britons were the first occupiers of Palestine” according to a local social media account which reported on the incident.
