Swift fallout from IDF capture Iran Arms ship

Fallout was swift from Wednesday’s announcement that the IDF had captured a ship carrying smuggled Iranian missiles on their way to terrorists in the Gaza Strip. The Islamist terror militia Hamas, which rules the Strip, dismissed the reports as a “silly joke” while the Iranian government said the reports were the latest evidence of a world-wide Jewish-led media conspiracy to depict Israel as a country under attack by the peace-loving government of the Islamic Republic. Elsewhere, US State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki told reporters that the US had been aware of the movement of Iranian designed and Syrian manufactured missiles and had contemplated taking action to intercept them, but Israel volunteered to do the job itself. However, despite this and the evidence presented by Israel, many major media outlets appeared to be giving Iran’s version of the story a fair amount of credibility.

Spokesman for the Gaza Ministry of Interior Islam Shahwan told journalists to avoid "being tricked by the Israeli narrative about capturing a ship carrying weapons to Gaza."

In the hours following the announcement, terrorists in the Strip attempted to fire a barrage of rockets into Israel, with at least one landing inside the Strip and no injuries or damage being reported.
