Tension Increasing Between Israel and Northern Neighbors
Military units loyal to the regime of Syrian President Bashar Assad deployed to positions in the Quneitra area bordering the Golan Heights this week, according to reports in Arab media outlets. The deployments come as the IDF conducted large-scale exercises in the north of the country. “This drill simulated what will need to be done during a war with Hezbollah,” Maj. Tsur Goldman of the 401st Armored Brigade told The Jerusalem Post on Tuesday, referring to an exercise his unit took part in in the northern Jordan Valley.
