Terrorism Strikes Central Israel
The central Israeli city of Yavne was the site of a terrorist stabbing attack Wednesday afternoon, when a 19-year old Palestinian man who had entered Israel illegally from the West Bank entered a grocery store and randomly set upon a 42-year old Jewish man working there. The victim of the attack, which was recorded by a store security camera, was in critical condition at a hospital in nearby Rehovot Thursday morning, while the terrorist was in police custody after briefly attempting to flee the scene of his attack. The terrorist was identified as Ismail Ibrahim Ismail Abu Aram of Yatta, an Arab village south of Jerusalem.

“The Palestinian suspect came to a supermarket packed with people, and began stabbing the victim,” said police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld. “We know there was no preexisting relationship between the two whatsoever, so we confirmed it was a terrorist attack. The suspect is still being questioned and the area has been cordoned off, as police continue their investigation.”

The attack came the same day as police lifted a gag order on the case of a Jewish woman from the Binyamin region of the West Bank who was murdered in May by a Palestinian man with whom she had been having an extra-marital affair. The suspect, identified as Muhammad Harouf of Nablus, has confessed to the murder, adding that he did it for nationalistic reasons.

“According to his version, he met the deceased in the Holon area, choked her, threw stones at her head, covered her body, and left the scene in her car in order to ‘release Palestinian prisoners,’” the police said.
